Purpose and Mission of the Association of PAs in Occupational Medicine

To promote loyal and honest services to the medical profession and to the public, to develop and conduct continuing medical and education programs for physician assistants involved in occupational medicine and for the APAOM membership in particular, to promote the concept of high quality care performed by physician assistants involved in occupational medicine by educating the professional, the public, contacts of the APAOM and by stimulating recruitment interest in student societies

To provide the general membership of the academy with a forum to learn about issues that relate to physician assistants of primary are and occupational and environmental medicine practices.

To develop and maintain a speaker’s bureau within APAOM to aid in the promotion of the physician assistant, and in particular the practice of occupational medicine.

To facilitate mutual assistance and support of physician assistants, health professionals, and health services by organizing and disseminating health care information through written briefs, forums, panels, and other modalities and similar programs concerning the delivery and quality of health care services within occupational medicine.
